22 months when we moved to a toddler bed. But I'd have probably done it around 18 months if it hadn't been summer and very hot.

We gave her an A+A blanket around 8 months. She mainly just cuddled with it. Just this past month (16-17 months) we gave her an A+A Dream blanket, and she finally keeps the blanket on for at least part of the night. She wasn't keen on blankets until the Dream blanket - now she requests it.

He got a real blanket as in comforter for his 2nd birthday. He got to use crochet blankets (so all very breathable) very early on because I hated to bother with the sleepsack for naps (so 3 or 4 months?). DD still has no blankets since she naps and sleeps at night in her zippy and everything except her pacifiers just keeps her from sleeping. (The only other thing she now has in her crib is a little stuffed animal).

We have one of the new A&A super soft/thin Dream Blankets and I will cover my 9 month old with it. It's silky soft or something like that, and I can't see it ever really being a suffocation risk.

At our 1 year well visit the ped said we could put whatever we wanted in the crib (blankets, stuffed animals, etc).
He's 17 months (nearly) and we've been doing a light A+A blanket ever since. He still uses a sleep sack but I still fluff up the blanket and put it over him as part of our routine. He likes it and I figure it will get him used to using one one day. Sometimes it ends up at the end of the crib unused, sometimes it covers him all night, but usually he just ends up cuddling/hugging it.

1 for DD1. DD2 doesn't like it on her, but I throw one in there from time to time. I don't really understand the risk after they are fully mobile?

I started putting a crocheted blanket in the crib around 7-8 months. He was super mobile (even in his sleep) so I didn't worry about it at all. I still put him in sleep sacks, though. He moves a lot and I want him to stay warm. Plus, it's a sleep cue (even for naps!). He actually fusses when I start to put it on cause he knows what it means.

I know it was after a year. Maybe 15 months? We started with an A+A swaddle blanket and now (at 2.5) she uses a dream blanket. She moves around a lot and rarely stays under it, though.

At about 1 year we bought these Dream Buddies Sherpa/velour blanket + pillow sets from Costco for $10 each. It's a flat stuffed animal pillow with a crib sized Sherpa blanket. DS still sleeps in a sleepsack and kicks off the covers from rolling around everywhere but I thought it would introduce him to the concept of bedding and give him some residual heat just being next to his body as it started getting colder at night. We ended up buying 4 of them because they wrap in a little tidy Velcro package for transport and it's nice for him to have for naptime at daycare and when we travel.

At daycare, I gave a regular A&A blanket after she was maybe 14 months. At home, she sleeps in a sleep sack to this day and she's 2.5, haha. But she sleeps in a queen size bed with pillows and a comforter pushed to the bottom of the bed, and she's still in her sleep sack.

I think it was pretty early for us too. Just the A&A kens. I actually cut one into four pieces to start as a lovey, but it didn't last long before I just used the actual blanket. They are 100% his lovey now. He has to have 2 or 3 in certain spots. (3yo)

Our DD is still in a sleep sack (and crib) at 2.5. Last week she was sick so I thought I'd try giving her a warm blanket over top. Big mistake. She never gets up at night and that night she called for us about 5 times because her blanket wasnt on properly and needed us to fix it. We will not be doing that again! Do your kids all keep their blankets on?! Or do they just not care when the blanket lies crumpled at their feet? I think we will attempt a blanket again when she's in a real bed.

Started around 9 months with a lovey, by a year she had a minky blanket. Now, at almost 2 I think she has like 5 blankets and 2 loveys and a bunch of random dolls.

I used to think crochet blankets were the way to go if you were nervous, but a few people have told me Stories of their kids pulling holes in them large enough to get over their head, or cutting off the circulation in their finger or toe, so they make me more nervous now. I'd try Muslin first if you're concerned, but at one she should be just fine.
