LO1 was in a bassinet for the first 3 months and then moved to the crib. It was a seamless transition.

LO2 was in a bassinet for 3 months, then the PNP for 2 months, and THEN the crib. So far so good (it's only been a week)!

It probably makes it easier that they've always slept flat and not at an incline, so the crib is just more comfortable, but very similar to what they were used to.

Ethan moved to his crib at 5 months (its been two weeks). He was in the RnP in our room and was getting too big for it. The crib has actually gone great, he sleeps better! Of course better for us is 3-4 hr stretches instead of 1-2. He was never swaddled though after 2 months, always just a sleep sack.

She slept in her room in a Rock & Play until she was about 3.5 months if I remember correctly. We transitioned to the crib at that point. It was hard - I was not ready to CIO so I rocked her back to sleep every 45 minutes for the first several nights!

we had our LO in a rnp for 10 weeks in our room, then I put the rnp in his room for a few days, then he was in the crib. It went really well! We would've done it earlier but I was lazy about having to walk down the hall for motn feedings!

We moved LO to her crib around 1 month. Before then she was in a bassinet in our room, but our bedroom was SO tiny that it barely fit, and I would still nurse her in the glider in her room, and like 95% of the time she would wake up while I was walking down the hallway/transferring her. So the crib was way easier! We've moved now and have a bigger bedroom--if we have a 2nd while we live here, s/he will prob sleep in our room much longer

We waited to use the crib with both our kids until right around six months after we stopped co-sleeping. The transition actually wasn't horrible for either one, thankfully, but we had never swaddled either one so they were used to feeling very "free" in their cribs.

We had LO in our room in the pack n play bassinet from day 1 until just before 6 months. We then moved her to her crib in her bedroom. I'd say the first two nights were maybe sliiiiightly worse than usual but not horrible. I feel like it helped that she was already used to sleeping on a flat larger surface so it was just a difference of a different mattress and different room.

DS1 - he slept in the bassinet attachment of the pnp at first and then the flat surface. We moved him to his crib around 6 weeks with no problem.

DS2 - he slept in the rnp next to me and we moved him to his crib at around 8 weeks or so with no problem. If he woke up and had a hard time settling back to sleep, I put him back in the Rnp. I don't feel like it was hard for him to go to a flat surface. Also he was never swaddled so that might be why it was easy for him.

4 weeks here. We started with naps first, and then moved to nighttime. The transition wasn't too bad. There were a few nights of him getting up more than usual, but then he settled in nicely.

We moved her to her crib in her room around 5 months when she outgrew the bassinet. It was fine, she didn't wake up any more than normal and we just stared bringing her back to our bed after her early morning feeding.

I really wanted to wait for 6 months which is recommended to prevent sids, but around 4.5 months she stopped being able to sleep with any noise at all. Literally I'd roll over in bed and she'd wake up.

We had pnp in our room, then set up the crib in our room, then moved the crib to her own room. Her sleep was so bad no matter where she was so I don't think moving rooms bothered her..

We did it early, like 3-4 weeks. She was a loud grunty sleeper and I was awake 24/7 thinking something was wrong. It was better for all of us to have her in her own room. We had no issues (before the crib she was in the RnP).

right before 3 months. with some nap times in his crib.
same for both babies. though 2nd baby had a much easier time going down to sleep. #1 needed quite a bit of a routine to go to sleep in her crib

We were in the Halo Bassinest for 3-ish weeks and even moved to the crib. He did fine, but it was early and he was always flat.
ETA: One of the reasons we did move him so early was specifically because we were told the earlier it happened the easier it was. And I am all about making things easier on everyone :-)
I was sad at first, making the move. I thought he'd be afraid and miss me, but he did fine and I believe it was the right thing to do (for us).

We moved from a p-n-p (DS) and a co-sleeper (DD) to the cribs around 6 months - both were seamless.

Not sure how it will go if he isn't use to sleeping flat though?

and, did they have a hard time transitioning?

My daughter was in her crib from day one. We used the RNP sometimes if she seemed congested and needed to be inclined, but she mostly crib slept. We had a hard time ditching the swaddle, but we recovered.

My son is 5 weeks today and has been in the RNP in our room since day one. We all sleep fine in there, and I'm not ready to move him out, but i'm worried about the transition. Maybe I should set up a PNP so at least he's flat?

Tell me about your experience.
