We just kind of picked one of his sleepy times around 6 weeks, which was 8 p.m. and did his bedtime routine then - he was still waking up every 2-3 hours to eat at night at that point, but started stretching it out as the weeks went by, and I think the routine helped soothe him. He changed his bedtime to 6:30 p.m. around 4 months old, which has been very nice!

We stopped waking for feedings early. Like as soon as the doctor had no more worries about DD's weight gain.

Our daughter did not naturally shift her bedtime earlier, but around 10 weeks (I think?) I started trying to enforce an earlier bedtime. I'd give her a bath starting around 7 or 7:30 and then go through something resembling a bedtime routine to get her down. She didn't take to it immediately, but I kept at it, and it was pretty firmly established after a couple of weeks. I really appreciated being able to have some grown up time w/ DH after DD went to bed, which was entirely missing when we were all going to bed at 10 or 11.

We moved bedtime up starting around 7-8 weeks...mostly because he was falling asleep downstairs with us around 630 anyway, so we figured he might as well sleep in his bassinet! We never woke to feed cause he got back to his birthweight after 4 days. At the moment I take him upstairs to our darkened bedroom between 645 and 7, diaper change, into PJs, nurse one side, swaddle, nurse to sleep on the other side (only works if he's had about 90 mins to 120 mins awake time before bedtime), sing twinkle twinkle little star, and into bassinet by about 715. He often wakes after 1 sleep cycle and my husband can usually shush him back to sleep. If not, he will sleep through til sometime between 3 and 5. That's been our experience so far and I DO NOT want to mess with it!! I'm getting more sleep now than I was in the 3rd trimester of pregnancy!

Our routine is similar: I feed her between 10 and 11 for the last time, and then she sleeps until she wakes up between 2-4 to eat. She goes back to sleep until about 7, and then depending on the day, I either put her back down in the RnP or feed her and take her out for the day. She takes a nap in the evening that we're trying to make bedtime, but she often doesn't want anything to do with it. Or, she'll sleep for an hour and then wake up for another hour or two before I nurse her for the last time.

Our new goal is to keep her happy at night, whether that be awake or asleep. I figure an earlier bedtime will come if we follow her cues, so I'm trying not to stress too much about it! She is 8 weeks old now.

We were still on 9pm bedtimes around month 4 or so. We slowly moved to about 730/8:00 around month 5 and by month 6, we were at 7/730. Probably a few months ago, we had to start putting E down around 6:45 because she would get really fussy by 7:00 and overtired.

I just sort of followed her cues and started bumping things up in 15 min increments. If she was too tired, i had missed it and would try earlier the next day.

It took some time, though. I distinctly remember working when she had a 9pm bedtime...and 9pm is *my* bedtime  So she wasn't too old

We moved her bedtime up when she was around 12 weeks. It was originally 8:30...now it is 6:45/7. We stopped waking to eat around 3-4 weeks.

My LO 1 was eight weeks when she started STTN but she was going down around 9. It took a few months to get move it to 6:45 -7. She had no interest in sleeping that early the first few months!

Our pedi said by the time she is back at her birth weight and gaining weight, there was no need to wake her to feed. For earlier bedtime, we waited until she moved it on her own, which was around 10 weeks.

By 4 weeks she was sleeping 8 hour stretches and dr said no need to wake her so I didn't. Her bedtime was 10pm... Around 3 months she started pushing her bedtime earlier by an hour each month until she had a 7pm bedtime by 6months. She would give me her tired cues earlier and earlier. I was surprised at how she transitioned herself so easily!

Xander just started falling asleep on his own earlier, so by 10 weeks, his bedtime was between 7:00-7:30. But I did a dreamfeed at 9:00 until he was about 8 months, haha!

We never woke her up to feed!! But our pedi said at 2 weeks we didn't need too.

I think around 12 weeks she moved bedtime to 8. Then not long after that it was to 7.

Our ped said bedtime should be between 6-8- but that was around 12 weeks I think? Also I've heard, and experienced, that an earlier bedtime can actually lead to later wake ups!

No clue on te waking to eat though- good luck an enjoy your rock star sleeper!!

So I think we might be a little bit off from this yet, but I just have no clue what is normal.

My LO is 4 weeks old and we have a very established routine with her that has worked for us since week 2. We take her upstairs to our bedroom at 9pm, I breastfeed her and swaddle her and put her to bed about 10pm (in our room) and we go to bed. Then I wake her up to eat at 2am (at her 2 week appointment doc said she can go 5 hours between eating overnight), and she is almost always super sleepy at that point. Then put her back down and she usually sleeps until 5:30 or 6 before waking me up to feed again (I have an alarm set for 7 but she has never made it that long). Then sometimes she will go back down, and sometimes not.

So basically she is sort of a rock star at night and I'm not sure when we should try moving bed time back earlier? And how early? I know most people seem to put their kids down a lot earlier than 10.

Also, at what point did you stop waking to feed at night? I feel like if I didn't wake her she should probably give me a 5-6 hour stretch at the first part of the night, which would be nice :) Although I don't know if I put her to bed earlier if she'd then be up for the day a lot earlier. I guess it will be a bit of trial and error!

Still, I'd love to hear what other people did.
