Hmmmm. I wore LO frogged up in the moby for probably 6 or 7 weeks? Definitely by her 2 month birthday she was legs out in the Moby. I still wear her legs out in the moby at 17 weeks but she's getting a little heavy. DH wears her with legs out in the stokke (like a Beco) and has since she was maybe 8 weeks old.

Around 15 weeks I think. I started using the ergo with the infant insert at that point. I did NOT put his legs out until he was maybe 5 months old? I didn't feel comfortable having them so spread when he was younger. I think in a moby it's different--the legs out position isn't stretched out across your midsection, it's more hanging out.

@mamabolt: how did you keep her legs frogged up? I watched a you tube video but can't quite see how it worked. She seems to like having them tucked up in the moby. I'd like Dh to be able to wear her In The beco though. She's 9 lbs, 1 month.

I frogged up LOs legs in the Beco and wore her that way starting at 2 weeks. I think by 6 weeks or so I would put her legs out?

The current recommendation is to have babies legs out from birth, with the carrier/wrap supporting them from knee to knee. We stopped using the stretchy wrap around 3 months since he was just getting a bit too heavy and it was sagging and just didn't feel supportive enough.

At what age or weight did you move from a wrap carrier to a bigger soft structured carrier like a Beco Gemini? In the beco is there a way to keep her legs tucked up, instead of out to the sides? When are babies ready to have their legs out to the side (still in the front facing in position)?
