Went to a twin bed at 2 years. Not sure when I will move DD2 out of our room yet. I imagine because of space/sharing a room, #2 will be in our room or the office connected to our room for quite a bit longer. By about three months old, we moved the Rock N Play into the nursery. Recently, at 4.5 months old or so, we're working him sleeping in his crib again in his nursery. I wish we could unswaddle him during the night, but it's the only way he calms down for us. I can't wait to use some sleep sacks and no swaddling on the boy. She's starting to be much more aware of her surroundings so we wanted to get her out of our room before she gets too used to us sleeping near her. She did well. We were bothering her when we went to bed and vice versa, so it was the best decision for us. That transition was very difficult for me and I checked on her mulitple times a night. Once I got more comfortable with it, I was happy we moved her when we did. She was in a bassinet in our bedroom for those 3 months. I was strict about it, though. I told my husband "when she turns 3 months, we're moving her." He'd fall asleep somewhere but i'd then transfer him to his crib for the remainder of the nap so he would be familiar with it. Then at exactly 4w, he was in there for good (all night). I have a recliner in there so going in there for night feedings was easy. It's the best thing I could have ever done!!! He slept about 6h straight at 8w, and at 11w did the full night. He is 13w now and he has no problems being in his room, door shut, lights off at 8pm. Naps are no different. * I do have an AngelCare monitor though, because I was paranoid like anyone else;) Love that thing. Our crib is transitional so we will make it a toddler bed and then a twin size until he's about 10. Then, we will probably get him a queen and have that be his permanent thing. She was starting to wake up when we moved around and needed her own space at that point. We will be moving her to a big girl bed between 18 months-2 years of age depending on when I get pregnant again. She will be going to a queen sized bed with rails added to it. When did you start having your LO sleep in their own room? And when did you transition them out of the crib? Did you go to a toddler bed or right to a twin or bigger? Obviously, apartment/housing issues are on my mind these days!
