DS2 switched around 7/8 months. Both are on the smaller side (5 percentile in weight). It got to be too heavy to lug around and we were taking him in and out of the seat as it was. DD is 5 months and we are still using it, but dang it's getting heavy and awkward to carry! (Britax marathon click tight) We stopped carrying her in it when she was about 8 months. She's never been happy in that car seat and I probably should've switched sooner but we don't go many places, so it's never been a big deal. I don't know how much she weighs (probably 17 lbs, give or take) but its too much to lug. I already take her in and out of her car seat at every destination we go to. The only thing holding me back is that its nice to get her into her seat in the house before we go so that if it is cold or snowing out i can just plop her into the car fast and we can be on our way. But typing that out I realized if I stand out in the cold to fasten/unfasten her at every destination, I could probably do it in our garage/driveway too.
