I would never wake a healthy baby up to eat. That seems like such bad karma.

Never had to, he was always a step ahead of me. He could go from sleeping to starving in 30 seconds or less. After a week or so, there was no way I would wake him!

I never woke him. The majority of the time he woke up on his own & the few times he didn't I REALLY needed the sleep. Lol. (He gained all his weight back plus a few extra ouces by 2 weeks)

We were waking to feed every 2-3 hours bc of H's jaundice- so she'd poop and pee it out with frequent feedings...Ped said we could stop worrying with that a couple of weeks ago, but she pretty consistently wakes up every 3 hours on her own. I put her down at 11:15 last night, she woke at 2:30, put her down again at around 4a, she woke up at 7:15...It could be worse!

She's almost 7 weeks and I still have to wake her sometimes during the day (I don't let her go more than 3 hours). But I stopped night wakings at 3 weeks. We were waking her every 5 hours. She was back at birthweight by 1 week but she was such a great sleeper that the doc told me to keep waking her for the sake of establishing my supply.

We are on day 11 and I am still waking her because she's not at her birth weight yet and she's not waking up on her own. I plan to stop waking her at night once she is back up but I will still wake her up during the day if she goes past a feeding time.

I only did until he was 5 days old - he'd gained enough weight back at our first pediatrician appointment that she said to stop. That's awesome that she is already sleeping 4-5 hours at night though! That's what we're getting now at almost 7 weeks :)

LO is 3 weeks old tomorrow and I feel like I am still waking her a majority of the time to eat- every -.5 hours during the day and then every 4-5 hours at night. some nights she is so out that she will eat, burp, and go back to her crib without really waking (some nights I am not so lucky).

We have an MD appt today so I will ask our MD, but when did you start with baby led feedings?
