@BeachMama: Thanks for the support. Sorry to hear you experienced something similar, it is so hard!

That Cup of Jo article perfectly described how I've been feeling! The past few weeks I was even convinced I was pregnant because I could tell my hormones were out of whack and I was getting acne, etc. Now I'm just hoping AF comes soon so I can feel that rush of relief that Joanna described!

@betsyboop - I started the weaning and depression post. I was pretty sure I had PPD from the get go, but it was written off as baby blues by my doc. Finally at around 7 weeks I was so desperate. One night I was lying on the floor in the fetal position just crying. I called my doc the next day and cried on her voicemail and finally got a prescription for Zoloft.

Now LO is 7 months. I've cut back on nursing and pumping lately and for the first time in months I was super moody, weepy, and crying again for a few days. I'm pretty sure it was due to a change in my hormones. There not a lot of info out there on depression and weaning but the post on Cup of Joe is good and has links to a few other articles.

Hang in there. It'll get better. And don't be afraid to call you doctor for help.

6-7 weeks. I haven't read the other post but was told by my OB that stopping breastfeeding (which I did around that time) could be contributing to it. (I stopped pumping gradually and knew from about three weeks I really just wanted to make it to six weeks.) I'm 3 months pp now and taking medication for it. It can definitely be PPD at 7 months pp.

There is a post on depression related to weaning somewhere on this board. . . I remember reading it and saying to myself that this was another thing that no one tells you about having a baby.

Found it http://boards.hellobee.com/topic/weaning-and-depression#post-394687

The link to the blog explains one woman's experience with it. Maybe talk to your doc about it and hopefully he/she will be able to help you. Good luck and hang in there!

To the moms who had PPD, when did you start feeling blue?

I'm wondering if I have PPD, though I am 7 months postpartum and haven't really felt down at all until recently. I thought I was in the clear when I felt fine a few months postpartum, but recently I've been feeling REALLY hopeless and down. Like really, really down, where I don't feel like talking to anyone. I'm wondering if it's the holiday blues, hormones due to weaning, or PPD?

Anyone have any experience with late-onset PPD?
