8 months, fully sitting and crawling, and it barely swung anymore. We kept it around because it was the only way we could shower if we were home alone with LO.

18 months- we had a swing-aholic on our hands, it was our "when all else fails" solution. Ours goes up to 30 pounds though.

Eight months and still using it! I had thought about disassembling it recently but am glad I didn't. Besides the fact that I use it as white noise for naps/bed time, I figured she might still need it. And I was right - babe has her first cold and that was the only way I could get her to nap the past few days. Its gentle motion and reclined position made it easy for her to get to sleep. No congestion making it hard for her to breathe.

6ish months. It was our sole nap spot until then.

@sslm: I know! I'd really like to put it away when we put up the Christmas tree but I don't think that's happening.

I think we stopped using it around 9 months or so? Although we didn't move it to the basement until a couple of weeks before her 1st birthday.

T started refusing any reclined seat (bjorn bouncer, swing) around the time that she could sit with assistance- so maybe 4.5 months? She would arch her back and try to scoot around in it, so she just seemed uncomfortable. BUT- she was never really a big swing fan.
We used the bumbo seat for a few weeks until she could sit in her high chair. Now she sits in the high chair or plays by herself on the floor while I eat or do other stuff.

@swedishfish: Part of me wants to just take it to the basement because it takes up so much room, but it's also convenient, so I am torn!!

M is about 18 pounds and 6.5 months, so still fits in it weight wise. We started strapping her in once she started trying to sit up. She sits in it now while I eat my breakfast but she's constantly trying to sit up and has started grabbing the toy bar to pull herself up! But she still tolerates sitting in it...

Anyway, I am wondering when you guys retired the swing? Age and development please :)
