Yeah last time I left at 38 weeks and my water broke at 38.5. Didn't get hardly any downtime because I had my baby shower, we had to go out of town for a night and then I spent time at L&D for decreased fetal movement. I had like 3 days or something.

This time I have a scheduled repeat c-section at 39 weeks exactly (this Sunday!) so I peaced out of work at 36 weeks and it's been so useful to have this time. I spent one week resting, taking our toddler on some fun adventures, and setting up better play areas in our living room and patio. The second week I did a million cleaning and organizing tasks, and this, my final week, I've been dealing with my sick toddler who, of course, developed his worst ear infection to date. It really sucks, but I'm glad I'm not working or anything and that we have some extra snuggle time before DS2 arrives on the scene.

Around 36/37 weeks I had a hard time working. Getting out of my car 6-7 times a day was so difficult plus I was having shortness of breath during meetings. Taking it slowly working from home did wonders though.

@runnerd: do you have the option of a modified work schedule?

At 32 weeks I was over it. By about 35/36 weeks I was contemplating creating some sort of issue to try and get put on disability early (I was going out at 37+3). I was insanely uncomfortable and terribly swollen. I didn't gain a ton but I'm pretty slim and the belly and extra weight felt like it was too much for my body. I went into labor at 37+5!

@MrsSRS: The pool was my "happy place" during late pregnancy. Like you, I'd just walk laps and all of my swelling and rib/back pain would go away temporarily. My swelling would even stay away the rest of the day after a nice pool walk.

At 34 weeks, I got sciatica while we were on our last little vacation, and I knew that was the end of the "nice" part of pregnancy. It actually went away after a couple days, so I ended up being ok a little while longer, but I think by 36 weeks, I felt officially over it.

I was fine until 34 weeks but then started slowing down and getting some pelvic pain and swelling/carpal tunnel. Now I'm feeling a little better at 36 weeks. Still have aches and pains, but I just started my maternity leave so it's more bearable since I can wear PJs all day and take frequent breaks to lie in bed lol.

Oh man. I don't miss this! I know you didn't ask, but it really helped me to swap walking for pool walking, to elevate my feet for a few minutes every afternoon when I was exhausted, and to drink crazy amounts of water. The pool was like magic. I could be weightless and my toddler could burn off energy doggie paddling in his puddle jumper.

I'm right there with you! I'm 33 weeks with #2 and have a bad cold on top of all the aches and pains. Pregnancy #1 was so much easier, I was much smaller, and I felt great and took yoga until I delivered at 38 weeks. Turning over in bed is challenging this time around!

With the 2nd one? I was *done* by 28 weeks. She sat SO low and I had bad pelvic separation. I felt like I was going to crush her skull every time I sat down, and then I would cringe every time I had to stand up from the pain of pelvic separation.

With my second pregnancy I was curtailed at 36/37 weeks with hemmorhoids and everything spiraled downward after that with not wanting to cook, not being able to get on the floor to play with my toddler, not being able to hold him in my lap, getting an upper respiratory infection, etc. I was so happy when my water broke at 39 w and 5 d.

Man - I don't know if it's because I have a toddler or because my memory is bad, but I don't remember running out of energy this early in my last pregnancy. I'll be 34 weeks tomorrow, and I just started falling apart this week!!

I have been walking 2-3mi about 5x a week, trying to maintain step goal, and I have barely been able to do the walking I need to work, cook dinner, and take care of my toddler this week.

Everything struck me this week - menstrual like cramps, back pain, carpal tunnel (I had it already but new level), lightning crotch, going to bed within 30min of my toddler, grumpy, exhausted... Blah!

So what week did you feel like I can't do this for X more weeks!! I need to commiserate :)
