Omg my 6 month old just threw a tantrum yesterday! We tried one of those organic food pouches. She wanted to do it herself, but couldn't figure it out. Cue screaming and crying. I tried to help her, but my even touching the pouch led to more screaming and crying. It's too early for this!

My LO seemed to flip a switch right after he turned 12 months. It got worse around 15 months, then worse again at 18 months. He's 19.5 months now, and I imagine we haven't hit the peak yet... :meh:

I dot remember when all the littler things started but I think tantrums were around 11 months. They still haven't reached their peak though!

Hmm, it showed up on and off in spurts from around 11 months, but now that she is 22 months old it is on a whole different level. The tears, the fits, the whining. Spring break has been rough on us all!

The horrible toddler has come on at around 12 months? And it has gone on and off... Thankfully off more than on. And most of the time I had a way to deal with it. So thankfully it has been controllable. LO is now 2 years+ 3 months. Phew!

G is definitely showing her toddler tendencies. She's already so mobile that she tries to go everywhere and do everything, and gets royally pissed if we try to stop her. She's definitely a strong willed little goober.

16 months a switch flipped and she went from happy little baby to sassy tantrum throwing toddler. at 18 months it's still going strong. I would say this has to be close to terrible twos because I can't imagine it getting any worse. Some days her attitude is out of control. :)

About a month ago, the thrashing and whining started. It's annoying and she goes Limp Baby on us if we have to pick her up and take her away from something she wants to play with. Full on rag doll.

If i take things away from her (her poop, her boogies, the aluminum foil, etc) she gets all mad, but I just say, "sorry, can't have your way all the time" or "i know, i'm so awful to you" and move on and she seems to move on quickly, too. So far. Let's see how long it lasts!

This sounds exactly like my 9 month old! Full blown meltdowns already! If you take anything away from her she SCREAMS! If she wants to sit up and you're not there to pull her up, she SCREAMS! If you've left her alone when she doesn't want to be left alone, SCREAM SCREAM SCREAM. And she's never let us feed her, ever! It's a good thing we're not authoritarian types, or we would have our hands full.

9-12 months felt like such a breeze for me. Around 14 months I started seeing what I could only describe as the terrible twos, but she was only 14 months!

It's gotten better (she's 30 months old now) but oh my goodness, the tantrums are worse.

I commiserate with you! LO is also throwing fits all day long. I always have to be careful not to laugh when he throws himself on the floor and cries because he doesn't get his way. This started at 9-10m for us (he's 12m now).

I do feel that around 9-12 months it came and went in waves. I definitely felt like a toddler personality took over around 11 months but sometimes it gets easier as he ages because he's able to do more (walk, communicate) but the tantrums, though fewer, get more intense and more ridiculous.

E has always been an independent and willful little soul but at almost 9 months she has begun to get more and more toddler-esque....

She is desperate to crawl and/or walk but isn't physically able to just yet. She tries and tries and gets so frustrated when she can't, throwing a little mini tantrum! She slams her hands down by her sides and makes this little growl-scream. I feel so sorry for her!

She is also really difficult to entertain because she wants to grab everything - but as soon as she has got hold of it, she loses interest. Yesterday, we went out for lunch and she spent the entire time kicking off because she wanted DH's beer, my phone, the napkin.... she clambered all over us, getting more and more frustrated!!

She has also become a really picky eater. She wont eat anything she can't give to herself and fights to hold her own bottle or sippy cup - but then she can't lift it high enough to drink out of and that makes her very sad. She throws all of her finger foods off the high chair then cries for them! When you put a new piece of food onto the tray, she uses her arm to (angrily) sweep it off and God help you if you catch it and put it back - cue the growl-scream! All the foods she used to love she no longer eats.

DH and I keep joking that her toddler self is beginning to emerge - and she's a horror!!!

Was this age difficult for your LO? When did you see the willful little toddler begin to emerge?
