@Mrs. Goose: ring slings are great post c-section. There are many good brands. Maya wrap, Sakura Bloom, and wrap conversions are great.

@oliviaoblivia: was it really comfy wearing the ring sling? I imagine that would be one of the best ways to baby wear after a c-section now that I think about it. Do you have a specific brand?

@Finfan: ahhh. Yeah, I hear you. Im fine while im wearing, but if I've worn her too long I am sore after. I also have a big baby (and belly fat that isn't going anywhere) i wasn't wearing my tula high enough, I must have always worn my second too low, becasue when I read about adjusting to my natural waist it made a world of difference

@My Only Sunshine: I'm thinking of getting a K'tan! I don't know if any stores around here sell them but maybe I'll get one online. I don't want to mess with a Moby.

@Finfan: Hopefully you heal quickly and can wear baby with no pain soon! I was wearing mine for two hours during dinner sometimes and that was pretty uncomfortable even while sitting. What you described is exactly what I had and my babe is up over 11 pounds now, but was pushing 10 at two weeks. I wore a belly bandit underneath the tula one day and that did help a bit because it couldn't push my extra tummy flab. It just meant I had to tighten the strap a bit more.

@Finfan: Do you have a K'Tan or a Moby or similar wrap? The Ergo sits so low on the mom's body, I can see how it would irritate a c-section incision. I had a Moby which sat nice and high and wasn't an issue. I'm thinking of getting a K'Tan for this pregnancy so I don't have to deal with the wrapping of the Moby though.

@OhCaptain: I'm pretty sure it's in the right spot since this is my second LO in the Ergo. I don't think I worded that very well. It isn't resting on my incision so much as putting too much pressure on my extra chub and squishing THAT down. I think I will have to wait a few more weeks until I've dropped more weight/ things have shifted back in to place. My baby is also well over 10 pounds so that's not helping either!

@Mrs. Goose: Oh that's good. I wore her for maybe 10-15 minutes during a fussy period and she fell right to sleep but I had to sit down because of the pain. Glad to hear it is getting better with time for you. I'm really looking forward to being able to wear here for a while since I have two LOs now and need my hands free to chase the older one.

@Finfan: I think I did about two weeks after my surgery. I have a Tula and a wrap. Both were not laid on my incision, but both put pressure on my incision because a lot of the baby's weight falls into the belt around my tummy. I experienced discomfort for longer periods of wearing, but sometimes it has been a necessity because she was sleeping in the wrap and I didn't want to disturb. I am nearly at 6 weeks pp and my discomfort while baby wearing is far far less. So you will probably have to wait it out. Try it for short periods of time until it feels more comfortable. Personally, it didn't help me to have the waist belt up higher because everything was still pushing down and putting pressure.

It was about 2'weeks for me too. @finfan: make sure the waist belt is at your natural waist. It's a lot more comfotable and should be Well
Above your incision.

This is an old thread I thought I would bump instead of starting a new one. Anyone have a recent experience? I had a C-section nearly 4 weeks ago and I tried the Ergo on yesterday and it laid right on my incision. :crying: So painful! Wondering what other people have experienced with baby wearing and C-sections?

A friend lent me her Moby at five weeks and it was perfect! I had previously tried the ergo but it put too much pressure on my incision. Now at 9 weeks I could probably handle the ergo no problem but I haven't tried!
