Surprisingly, D rolled stomach to back much earlier than back to stomach, so when he started rolling onto his tummy during the night, I let him go. I knew he could flip himself over already. That was probably....5-6 months?

DS is a tummy time drop out from the beginning so he'd fall asleep frequently when I put him down for tummy time. When he did, I let him sleep and just checked up on him frequently to make sure he was still breathing and his nose had clearance.

whenever he started flipping on his own, i let him stay that way (unless he was crying and wanted to be flipped back, which was a short phase)--i think that was around 4 or 5 months. the pediatrician ok'd it and frankly i had no interest in continually rolling him back over--sleep was so touch and go at that point, i think i would have cried if someone told me i had to repeatedly go in and manipulate my baby and risk waking him up multiple times. god no.

As soon as she would roll into it and fall asleep that way. Pedi said if she is putting herself that way, it is fine.

Around 3.5 months when he started to roll. It was impossible to keep him on his back, and he slept much better on his stomach. The first night was nerve wrecking though.

She was almost 5 months when she would roll that way, I'd put her on her back and she'd just keep rolling to her stomach. At first I was nervous but then I just let her as she was obviously more comfortable that way and that's how she wanted to sleep. Plus, I couldn't stand over her crib all night long flipping her back and forth (no matter how much I wanted to). ;)

Probably 5.5-6 months, whenever we moved him into his crib. He slept on his back/side when he co-bedded with us, but as soon as we moved him he immediately went onto his stomach. But he had excellent head control and could roll well back and forth so I just held my breath and let him.

It happened at 5.5 months for us but that's when she was out of a swaddle and in her crib. I don't think she cared to do it when she was in her cosleeper before then.

I wouldn't until she did it without fussing personally and could roll back herself so I knew it was intentional.

Our LO still doesn't roll onto her stomach at night at 6.5 months, but the advice we were given from the community health nurse is that it's fine to leave them as soon as they can get there themselves.

As soon as he started rolling onto his belly by himself we let him at night (2 weeks ago). We've let him nap in his belly starting around 3.5 months but kept an eye on him.

I feel bad because this morning, I heard her fussing through the monitor, looked at her and she was on her tummy. I always wait a few minutes during MOTN wake ups to see if she will resettle, so I turned the sound off so it wouldn't wake DH (our rooms share a wall so I can still hear her through it, just not as loud). I must have fallen back asleep because I woke up two hours later and she was still sleeping on her tummy. I think I would have heard if she was actually crying, but she seemed pretty content until she woke up at 7:30 hungry.

I let N nap on his belly quite early because it was the only way he liked to sleep, probably 2 months or so. I watched him like a hawk though. We co-slept until 5.5 months so he was always on his back or side at night.

As I mentioned earlier, C has started rolling onto her belly in her crib and getting stuck. Sometimes, she will fuss or cry until we flip her over (multiple times, rather annoying). Now, sometimes she will fuss for a few minutes then fall back asleep on her belly. Since she can push up very well on her arms, and hold her head up really well, is it OK to just leave her if she's fallen back asleep and isn't bothered by it? She's 4.5 months. She has rolled from tummy to back while she's awake but not consistently.

Yesterday we pretty much accidentally let her do it, because we were out and didn't have the video monitor. I came in after her nap to her smooshed up to the side of her pack and play on her tummy.
