He went to undies for naps about two wks after day training. I need to buy a mattress pad so we can rip the band aid for overnight. I'm going to use up the training pants we have and then go straight to undies for nighttime too.

We've tried twice and thought we had success as the second time lasted a few days. Ultimately we are back to diapers (cloth) because she sometimes sleeps through peeing and that isn't good for her. Her pedi told us not to worry. She's been day trained for a year now. We may try again once she consecutively stays dry for 2-3 weeks plus add a potty to her room. Oh and she asks to wear undies to bed but just doesn't have the ability to consistently hold it for 12-12.5hrs.

We stopped when DD told us she wanted to wear underwear to bed. We had maybe about 2 accidents. She has been diaper free for about 2 months and she is 2.5

Honestly, I STILL keep my 4 year old in pull ups because I WOH and I am not up for doing laundry mid week right now. He wakes up in the night when he needs to go, but I don't believe that there is such a thing as active night training.

The first time we ditched it after a month of dry overnight but then she had two accidents in a week. She woke up pretty upset because she was absolutely drenched. Then it was about two months completely dry before we stopped with pull ups. Knock on wood she's been dry for almost a month straight. But we def have a waterproof cover because I expect accidents.

@bpcmarj: I wouldn't worry about it - my friends DD didn't stop wetting the bed until 6 and her pediatrician told her bed wetting is considered normal until age 7 - not that your DD will be peeing her bed forever but I wouldn't stress about it - she will get there!

We are still in pull ups at night at almost a year later because literally every time I don't put her in one she pees EVERYWHERE within like an hour of going to sleep. It is so strange.

We did day/night training at the same time. I used the Good Nights Bed matts on her bed (so if she didn't have an accident it would just stay there and if she did we'd pull it off). We also put a potty in her bedroom next to her bed and she'll get up in the night and use it if she has to now. Works great!

Are you giving her a lot to drink before bed? Staying dry overnight is a physical development that she just might not be ready for.

I was just about to ask the same question. LO has been dry 90% of the time and 2 nights ago her pull up was drenched. I noticed she will have accidents more if she is exhausted or doesn't use the potty before bedtime. I think I need to rip the bandaid off soon, I have a handful of pull-ups and don't want to buy anymore!

My daughter goes about 6/7 nights completely dry. I haaaate wasting pull-ups on her when she doesn't use them. But when she does use them, she goes like crazy. Should we just rip off the bandaid?

How did you decide it was time for undies overnight?
