So far it seems like it is all over the place. Some people did dilate earlier and some didn't. </p> <p>I am not so much concerned about the correlation between dilation and when I'll go into labor as I suspect that I will go into labor around my due date since I was late with #1. But just curious if this dilating earlier thing is typical. I am happy already that I have a favorable cervix as they have been talking about inducing me or maybe just sweeping me a week or so early due to age and size and whatnot. At least my cervix is already "soft and pliable" and starting to open. I got up to a "loose 2cm" and 70% effaced at 41+2 and had to be induced at 41+3. I think I was 1 or 2 cm after several hours of contractions. She said I'm a lot softer this week. Sounds like it's probably common to dilate earlier the second time and I know it doesn't mean anything as far as spontaneous labor, but just curious about others' second time experiences. </p>
