Thank you all for your insight... I will definitely look into getting it - I thought 8 weeks sounded early, but again didn't know what our usage would be early on.

I have found it used a couple of times, but always a several hour drive to purchase it!

Hmmm are you sure 8 weeks is correct and not 8 months? I have a BOB running stroller and there's no way DD could have started using it until she was 6 months old and sitting up on her own. There's no way an 8 week old could ride in a BOB without a car seat adapter. I've been using the car seat adapter on our BOB to take her running and on adventures since she was 7 weeks old. We used our every day stroller starting the first day we got home from the hospital. We used it a ton. So much easier to snap the car seat into the stroller vs waking a sleeping baby.

I'd find a used snap and go. They are always alllll over our local buy sell page. So much easier than lugging the big stroller into and out of the car (you want thing as easy as possible for those first few months). Plus the basket is HUGE on those snap and Gos so you can do a big shop without having to lug the infant bucket to and from and shopping cart
Think of it this way: if you have a c section will you be able to haul the bob in and out of the car? The snap and go will be much easier. (Im not saying you will end up having a c section, just a possibility)

We used the infant seat hitched into the stroller from birth basically. I have found that way more useful than having to take LO out of the seat when doing errands.

We were living in a small town when I had DD. We used it twice in the first 6 months. It was probably the purchase I put the most time into (yay bedrest), spending hours trying to balance features brand and price. I ended up wearing her constantly.

I honestly wish I had waited. The stroller we got is great for little ones, and perfectly adequate for her, but I probably would have gone for a jogging stroller instead, since we really only use it for walks outside and trips to the zoo etc. I wish I could jog with it!

We used it a lot in the beginning, especially useful when baby would fall asleep, could go between house/car/wherever in his carseat without disturbing him.

ETA: we couldn't use it without the carseat until 5-6 months

Does it really say 8 weeks? That seems unusual, I feel like most strollers you're supposed to use a car seat until 6 months/sitting unsupported.

We started using our stroller at about 2 weeks I think, and used it a ton in the weeks afterward.

Right away, but like others i am in the city and walk most places. In your situation I would buy a used snap and go and skip the adapter, especially going into winter. The snap and go is much easier to have in your trunk when you are going places. Then when it warms up and you want to do outdoor walks baby will probably be big enough to go in the stroller without an adapter (just can't run until 6 months or whatever) and you can sell the snap and go for what you paid.

We live in the burbs and only took the baby out when going to the doctor for about 3-4 weeks. We simply carried him from the car to the building. I used the stroller primarily for me to get some fresh air. Stroller usage so far has been for leisurely neighborhood walks and not while running errands. My baby was born in the Spring.

Stroller walking saved my sanity during maternity leave, he would get a reliable nap and I would get out of the house and some exercise. I used the car set with the stroller from less than 1 week and we used it for about 6 months. If I were you I'd probably get a snap-and-go to use for walks and errends (the BOB is a beast to get into and out of your car during quick errends) unless you are very committed to baby-wearing

How much is the adapter? Do you think you can find it used? I've also seen really cheap snap and go strollers...

For DD, we used the carseat bucket + stroller combo (adapter) a lot. She was a bit jaundiced in the beginning and we had to take her around to a few appointments. She was also a pretty easy baby and slept through the car rides so it was definitely easier to leave her in it and transfer her that way.

With DS1, we used the bucket seat + stroller the first 8 weeks maybe once a week, or less. It is definitely convenient when you need it, but I wouldn't call it necessary.

With DS2, he hated his bucket carseat so we switched to the convertible seat around 8 weeks (he's a big guy) and we babywore a lot (and still do). He pretty much hated sitting in the bucket seat and the first couple times we took it, he cried anyway so I had to pick him up and then DH would push an empty stroller around.

We used our stroller pretty infrequently in the beginning. I mostly babywore. Unbeknown to us, DS had neck/back issues from a difficult birth that we didn't get worked out until he was around 5 months so he hated being in his car seat early on.

I used it the first week, but my first was born in April. I don't use mine at all really in the winter so I probably won't use it with #2 (due thanksgiving) until March. Mostly I just use it to run (3-4x a week when not pregnant lol) and go places like the zoo and I don't do those in the winter (well I run inside). I think around 4 months I put her in the stroller part to walk without the adapter. You might not need the adapter IMO.

We were gifted a bob stroller, and did get the adaptor. But we barely used it. We ended up loving babywearing, and babywear every day, even now at 9 months. We go on walks nearly every night around the neighborhood and on nearby trails, but need to drive to get anywhere. We aren't fans of packing up the stroller. It's much easier for us to grab a carrier. So the rare times we've used the stroller, we haven't driven anywhere.

I used my stroller at least once a day. It was much more convenient when shopping anyway. But I had a more compact stroller that was really easy in and out of the car...i probably wouldnt want to do that with a BOB. Maybe you can wait and get a used snap and go if you end up wanting something more convenient.

We found a great deal on a BOB stroller, and it is recommended not to use it without a carseat adapter until at least 8 weeks.

I'm due in early November, and trying to decide whether an adapter is worth it. How much would I actually use my stroller within those 8+ weeks, considering that we will be entering into winter?

I live in a small town where you have to drive to get anywhere.
