I had to give up my jeans at about 12 weeks but I've managed to hold out on work pants and I'm now 19 weeks. For casual stuff where I would have previously worn jeans, I've been wearing a pair of linen pants that I previously owned that have a stretchy waist in the back.

Today is actually my first day in real maternity pants and at 19 weeks they still feel way to big. They keep falling down if I walk more than a few dozen steps. Honestly, I feel like I need suspenders for them! I think I'm going to try a pair with a full panel (as opposed to the demi that is on the maternity jeans I'm wearing today) and see if that helps.

Regardless, there's no reason to be uncomfortable. If your pants aren't fitting, get new ones. Even if they aren't specifically maternity, just get some with more give so that they're comfortable for you!

With my first, I waited a really long time and got away with wearing regular dresses because it was summer.

This time, I was like 8-10 weeks when I pulled out my maternity pants. SOOO much more comfortable.

It's not silly. If you're uncomfortable, I'd say start wearing them. I think wearing pants that are tight in the waist make bloating worse anyway.

Thank you! I am going to start wearing them! And thank you for the feedback on the belly band, I was about to buy one on Amazon, but now I think I'll skip it.

Jeans by 12 weeks (bloating) and dress pants by 14-15! I wasn't really showing but I was bloated and they just didn't fit right. Why be uncomfortable?!?! Honestly, I don't know why everyone just doesn't wear maternity pants all the time!

Tops are different - I'm 23 weeks and have had to retire my tighter/shorter tops, but for longer, flowier stuff I can still wear it.

I think I was really excited and wore some things by end of 1st trimester when I didn't NEED to. Plus it just felt so good haha!

With my 1st, I held off until I was about 12 weeks along. Once I was in them, I wish I had gotten into them sooner. So dang comfy!! I did the rubber band through button hole trick up until then.

With my 2nd, I learned my lesson and the moment my regular pants became uncomfy, I was in maternity pants so around 8 weeks?

Around 8 weeks with my first. So much bloat! And I wanted to get my money's worth out of the maternity pants (and I didn't like the belly band thing).

Oh, as soon as clothes were uncomfortable. Easily 8 weeks. Easily. Ain't nobody got time for that. My dress pants for work aren't exactly forgiving, you know? I could get away with dresses/skirts, but pants? Nope. They have zero give. The belly thing that supposedly holds your pants up did NOTHING for me. They just kept sliding down my butt and hips. The rubber band trick? Nope, you could see my underwear through my fly. I folded down the panel on full panel maternity clothing, though, so they'd stay up. I stretched stuff out with my first baby.

My pants were getting tight, so I started wearing them this past Friday. I'm 15 weeks pregnant with twins.

ETA: I did buy some larger jeans right before I got my BFP, so they worked for me for a little while.

Not silly at all. Go for it. You'll be so much more comfortable. I think by 11-12 weeks I was in maternity with my 1st and around 8 weeks with my 2nd. I tried that belly thing (forgot what it's called), but it was a pain. Full panel maternity is so much more comfortable!

Super early, like 12 weeks I think? (But not every day.) I was really bloated. I was also using the band thing, and wearing leggins a lot. Another reason: I have to give myself daily injections in the tummy, and if a button or something was too tight where I injected, I'd get a huge bruise!

With my first, I held out for so long. I want to say I started around 18-20 weeks.

I'm 18 weeks now and have been in maternity close since about 16 weeks. This is my second. I'm pregnant at the exact same time as I was with my first, but because I held out for so long, I only really have summery stuff! I'm still trying to work some of my bigger clothes, but it's just not happening!

I am 8 weeks and my pants are getting tight! It's mostly bloating, I know, but I sit at a desk for most of the day and I'm uncomfortable.
It's my first pregnancy so things are taking their time to stretch out. I feel it would be silly to start wearing maternity pants so soon.
When did you start wearing maternity clothes?
