two nights at 7 months. I had a freezer stash and I pumped while I was gone. He stayed with MIL and FIL. I was slightly hormonal about it, but it was nice to go (we were 1.5-2 hours away).

DD1 was 20 months. DH took her for a long weekend at MILs without me.
I don't like being away from them. What am I gonna do when they go to college?!

We are going away overnight for the first time this June. DD1 will be 37 months and DD2 will be 18 months.

This is the first time in three years I haven't been nursing so we are taking advantage of it before baby 3 comes in September and I start nursing again.

9 months. We left her with my parents for 4 nights. She was still waking up at night. I trust my mom completely with her, and we lived with them at the time so LO knew her pretty much as well as she knew us. It was very hard but it was also amazing and everything was fine. I pumped and LO went right back to nursing, although she was a little confused and upset when we first got back.

We haven't yet and our daughter is a little over six months. If we actually had people to watch her that I felt comfortable with, I might consider one night now. But I wouldn't at all be comfortable with 2+ nights away from her (if she didn't at least have her dad). Not right now anyway. Also, like a PP said, she still wakes up between 1-4 times a night. I honestly am not sure I trust someone who isn't her parent to cope well with that.

Not until 13 months, and 2 nights for a race and DH's work event.

If my parents who live nearby ever offered, I probably would have done a night earlier, but they aren't a huge fan of keeping babies overnight until around age 2.

4 months but it was literally just overnight for like 9 hours. I think I could have done it longer but my mom isn't very mobile anymore so it made it tougher. Parents definitely should get time away for themselves, it is a nice recharge.

Not until 13 months. If we had someting important come up like a wedding we would have done it sooner. But the idea of having to pump while away always made me feel like I wouldn't really be able to enjoy a vacation without her as long as she was nursing.

@youboots: @looch: Sneaky kids! one time, MIL put her to bed at our house, and she woke up crying "Mimi! Mimi!" for about an hour. She knows that if she wakes up at her house, Mimi brings her into bed for snuggles. But if we put her down? She is S.O.L., lol. Ah well. I can't say I always sleep great in a different place, either, ya know?! We haven't had any issues with DH or I traveling, though....but I think it's b/c she's used to the one of us or both of us scenario after it being like that for so long

6/7 months? It was so nice.

And one of my stipulations was that E STTN consistently b/c otherwise, i felt it was kinda shitty to go "here's my kid, she wakes up 8 times a night", But you know what? she sleeps like crap for her grandma, so it is what it is. She almost never wakes up for us, but if DH's mom puts her down, she inevitably wakes up at 2am for her. So, meh.

My son was a terrible sleeper, he wasn't consistent at all until he turned 4, so that kind of unpredictabilitly prevented me from being able to leave him with anyone. I would be fine with a day visit, but then was up so many times in the night I didn't want to wish that kind of sleep deprivation on anyone unless it was an emergency.

12 weeks. DH and I went on an overnight date night to the local hotel/casino downtown after seeing a musical. He was STTN and we were only a 30 min drive away.

We did several wedding night date nights, etc. after that. But our longest trip of 5 days away was when DS was 18 months and no longer nursing.

We've had no issues with any of our time away from DS. He & my parents loved the extra bonding time!
