It more has to do with the fact that there's an actual baby in the house. I tell him that he is my first baby and that no matter how big he gets, even when he's bigger than me he will ways be my baby. It makes me sad. Recently he has dropped the y off his name and insists we call him by his real name. I can't pin down the exact date, but it was well before he was three.</p> <p>With our youngest, we still call her "baby" and she just turned three! She's really the baby of the family - I am amazed at how powerful birth order is. I'm making a renewed effort to stop calling her baby.... it's hard though.
