It wasn't so much that I stopped feeding on demand, it was just that they fell into very predictable patterns around 3 months for DD1 and 2 months for DD2. When out I can sometimes re-direct them to other activities, sometimes I can't. Between 21.5 months and last week they both started to sleep through the night. I firmly believe that sleep is developmental and they will do it when they are ready. They both slowly weaned themselves throughout the night. I knew I was going to wean by 13 months, so I started dropping feeds here and there. It didn't really impact his sleep because he was a crappy sleeper in any case. We did nurse a lot to sleep though.
