This makes me feel a little better! My mom has made a few well-meaning comments about how I'm a SAHM now & I should "do more." She's awesome & I know she just wants me to feel good & be productive, but it's nice to know I'm not a total loser :)

I'm off for a year, so not permanently SAH, but I'm in month 11 and it still doesn't feel like the norm. We are in a good groove now with our routine though.

I think around 6 months was when I started to feel like I had a routine and "this was my life" more or less. Some days it still feels weird though, even a 16 months!

I was home for 2 years, I got into a really good groove at around 14 months. I had been working for 12 years, so it was a long time before I felt like I didn't have to "go back."

Before then I was still really anxious and was home a lot because of my son's erratic napping.

Hmm it felt like it right away for me, I guess because I never planned on returning? I started really getting into the groove arround 5 months though, where I was able to actually get things done lol. I still have days where nothing seems to get done (dd is 9 months) but I check off almost everything in my mental to-do list most days :)

It started to feel like regular life, not leave, by about 3 months for me, but that's not to say that's when we got into a routine or I get dressed every day! We started going to a mommy and me class at about 6 weeks, which helped force me to get out sometimes. Her naps started getting slightly more predictable around 5-6 months, so we are starting to sort of have a routine, and we have weekly playdates with the moms and babies from our class.

But, yeah, there are days when I brush my teeth at 5, most days I'm in a nursing tank and yoga pants, which have dog hair and the shedding from the wool rug all over them because I'm always sitting on the floor with the baby. Makeup is for special occasions, as are jeans. Heck, I don't even change C out of her PJs some days.

Maybe I need to get out more? But it's so darn cold here, even when we do go out everything is covered up in winter clothes anyway!

Dude, LO is 4 months old on Thursday (what?!) and I'm still a hot mess! It's even worse for me because DH travels and we've had the most awful winter so we don't really go...anywhere. Badiy every day is spent in a Target nursing tank and sweats with zero makeup. No joke.

I call it a success if I brush my teeth and go to the bathroom. Today I clipped my toenails and to my DH I felt accomplished. I'm hoping once she's taking legit naps and decent night sleep, things will start to sort out a bit! ;)

I think I was still in survival mode at 4 months! I didn't start taking LO to activities and whatnot until about 6 months. Once his naps consolidated everything became much easier. I shower and workout during naptime. I clean while wearing him or when he is the jumparoo.

Some days, at 8.5 months, I still don't get to shower or brush my teeth!

I quit my job to be a sahm when she was 6 months old. Took at least a month for everything to sink in - I kept thinking on Sunday nights that I would have to go in the next day. We got into a good routine (signed up for mommy and me classes, went to the library, etc) and by the time she was 8 months old we were def in a groove.

Congrats! I love being a sahm and hope you do too :)

I am currently a SAHM to my 4 month old. I would have gone back at 16 weeks so I am only 3 weeks into my new "gig." I still feel like I am on leave. I really need to start getting into a better personal routine. Some days I don't brush my teeth until right before DH gets home from work! And forget real clothes. I am very wrapped up in LO but as she gets on a better routine herself, I really need to do better about going to work out, run errands, see friends, etc during the day - basically have a life!
