I had only started pumping to help my milk come in so I figured I could stop. </p> <p>But then I started pumping again shortly before she turned 6 months and started solids...I wanted to use breastmilk to mix with her rice cereal and purées. I tried to keep pumping and nursing, but DS was in daycare and I couldn't keep up with his need. I tried taking time on the weekends to just lay around and nurse all day, took supplements, etc... but there were only so many times I could pump for 20-30 minutes before a let down and only end up with 2 or 3 ounces before I went crazy! </p> <p>I stopped pumping and kept nursing, supplementing with our freezer stash until we switched to formula full time around 7 months. </p> <p>I hope next time to nurse longer. I'm still nursing my (almost) 15 month-old 2-3x a day now. I was only pumping to have a bottle or two a week because I had a couple evenings I was away. It was such a relief to give up, I had been pumping an hour a night just to get an ounce.</p> <p>I kept breastfeeding until 17 months, every morning and for a while after her nap.
