My son is 3.5 and we use the Stokke Tripp Trapp. I would rather have him sit properly on his behind than on his knees at the table.

We have the same booster-high chair and used it with the tray up until this week. LO (18 months) now eats at the table with us in the booster seat version - he just climbs into it on his own. He's also perfectly fine standing on a chair and eating, but I want him to sit when we eat a meal so we usually have him in the booster.

She went from high chair to regular chair at 21 months I think. She stands or kneels, whichever works that day. She does very well!

We bought the prince lion heart booster and my 3 year old voluntarily sits in it and climbs in and out himself.

We stopped using it around 18 months because he refused. Now at 23 months he can kinda sorta reach the table. Before that, it was just very messy (and often still is).

Age 2. He sat in a regular chair, it was hilarious, because he couldn't reach but refused to kneel.

Our daughter (now close to 2.5) quit the high chair and the booster seat well before 2. Now she sits on the chair and reaches or she sits on us or she kneels. Whatever works. :)

We have one of the Fisher Price Healthy Deluxe Booster / Highchair combos that just attaches to a regular chair, but at 2 years old my daughter is totally over it. She can't climb into it by herself because of the higher sides of the seat, so lately she's just been sitting on her knees on a normal chair.

Should I buy a different kind of booster, or is knee-sitting until she's tall enough to reach the table just the next stage?
