I didn't wake her up, but I would automatically wake when I felt she'd start rooting around. Weird.LOL

Well, Gus lost more than 10% of his weight after he was born, so the pedi said to wake him up and make sure he feeds every 3 hours until he passed his birth weight, then let him sleep. I think that took 3-4 weeks.

I always let me daughter sleep as long as she would. She arrived 2 weeks late and was over 9 lbs, so there wasn't much worry about her weight.

I never woke up my daughter at night, but I woke her up every 2 hours during the day probably for about the first 2 weeks, when I was certain she had her nights and days figured out. So since 2 weeks old we didn't wake her up for feedings.

I still don't like to let day time naps go over 3 hours. Night time as soon as she regained her birth weight around three weeks we let her go longer at night

I never woke Charlie up. Some nights she'd go 4-7 hours of sleep, then others were every 1.5 - 3. I think it depends on how much she eats/sleeps during the day. My thoughts are if she's hungry enough, she'll wake up and eat. So far no problems with that theory, she's gaining weight well and developing normally. Hooray!

I've been waking Jacob every 3 hours at night, but lately he's sooo sleepy and doesn't seem to eat much, so now I'm letting him sleep a little longer.

I woke my daughter up at 3 hours until her one month apptt when I knew that she was gaining well. I asked my dr after her two week appt when I knew that she was over her birthweight but my dr said that it was better for newborns to eat every 3 hours in order to keep their blood sugar stable, so I went with that.

I never woke my baby for feedings. She was good about waking herself every 2 hours or so. -.- At 6 weeks she slept a 5-6 hour stretch and I rejoiced!

Olive is a month old today! We used to wake her up for feedings every 3 hours, but in the past week or so we've just let her sleep. She can go up to 3 1/2 hours in the day, and 4 hours at night. She's been putting on weight very well, and when we wake her up to feed she's too sleepy anyway.

Do you let your newborn sleep as long as they want, or do you wake them up for feedings?
