I stopped pumping at 11.5 months and burned through my freezer stash while increasing the cows milk to BM ratio. Around a week after she turned one she was fully on cows milk during the day.

At 12 months. I didn't see a point in continuing formula after that so she drank milk and pumped breast milk.

We started at a year, but she didn't really take to it. We gave her formula in a cup for a while and then started adding milk. She still isn't a big milk drinker at 14 months - she prefers water.

I started giving LO cow's milk around 12 months. She was still nursing at that time, but only 2x a day (morning and bedtime). She didn't really like milk at first so I mixed it with water and slowly increased the amount of milk over several weeks...and pretty soon she was drinking 100% whole milk with no problem. She only got milk with her meals per her pediatrician's recommendation and got water offered throughout the day. She continued to nurse 2x a day until she self weaned at 14 months...the nursing sessions just got shorter and shorter b/c she was eating solids/milk throughout the day...and when the nursing session were basically 30 seconds long I just stopped offering and she didn't care (never asked, no problems going to bed, etc).

aww, I know it's so amazing and fun to watch how quickly #2s learn from and copy their older siblings!

with my first, she was primarily FF and she transitioned to cow's milk around 13 months. my second is still BFing and I'll likely continue that til 24 months. I introduced almond and coconut milk at mealtimes at 12 months, as supplements.

My youngest just turned one last week - yay! I still can't believe how big he's gotten and how quickly he picks things up from his older brother. At 11 months he was crawling (knee and foot crawl) and pushing a car around the floor. I was shocked to see that! And just the other day he was holding his older brother's Lego tracker and flying it up in the air making air plane sounds. I could not stop laughing and he was smiling so big when I was laughing like he knew how awesome he is!

So back to the topic, I'm slowly weaning him off of breast milk (wah) and have been replacing nursing sessions with formula even if he just turned one last week. I don't know why but I am not ready to move him to cows milk yet. I switched my oldest at around 15 months b/c he was dairy and soy protein allergic and that was when he outgrew both of those allergies so his ped gave me the okay to move forward with cows milk.

When did you switch and why then? If you didn't switch at the 1 year mark when did you switch?
