I didn't want to keep spending money on bras I likely wouldn't be able to use for very long, so I went to stretchy stuff like the Coobie pretty early on.

@mrsrain: That is my concern. I was an F cup pre-pregnancy and I'm only 9 weeks and my bras are already uncomfortable. I've been mainly wearing a wireless sports-bra type thing but it isn't nearly as supportive as the real thing. But bras are super expensive when you've got a big boobs!

I've gone from a 34C to a 36DD, mostly in the first tri. I don't feel good going out in non undersides bras (psychological because it doesn't look any different) so at 28 weeks I am still in undersides ones. The current advice is that this is fine as long as they fit properly so I just kept going to the supermarket and get cheap two packs of undersides bras. I've gone through 3 different sizes and only spent £30. I'll buy nursing bras to breastfeed and that is all.

@dc yoga bee: I went from a 32B to a 32DD. I bought one C when I was that size, and then quickly sized up to DD. I did not start wearing nursing bras until DS was born. I wore tanks a lot at first, and then a non sized bra (S,M,L type sizing) before waiting until my supply/size was stabilized to get sized at Nordstrom. I was still a DD. At one year PP, they're finally FINALLY going back down...I think I'm at a C/D now. I wouldn't wear a nursing bra until I had to...I miss my regular bras. It's a "special" day when I get to wear one!

I jumped up two sizes in my first trimester, from 32c to 32dd (and should have gone to a third but didn't want to admit it to myself!) and I bought new bras. I bought some VS pink bras (thankfully they had my size and were pretty cheap - maybe $20?). I'm glad I did because I went up yet another size after delivering and if I had bought nursing bras to fit me during pregnancy they probably wouldn't have fit once I started breastfeeding.

As soon as bras started feeling uncomfortable, I switched to sports bra and ordered a few Coobies. I don't even know how long I've been wearing Coobies for! I'm now 36 weeks and just bought some nursing bras; but not in cup size.

I just sized up and waited until 6 weeks pp to get nursing bras so that I'd know my true size.

I sized up once, and am still wearing those two underwire bras. I got a pullover wireless Gap bra that I like a lot too. So I bought 3 total. Right now I'm 23 weeks.

I bought a Cake stretchy nursing bra from Nordstrom that I have not washed yet.

I was able to hold out until my second trimester, at which point I got re-sized and bought a regular bra that was a touch big to accommodate some more growth. I didn't buy nursing bras until towards the end of my pregnancy. That said, I have unusually large breasts and bras are both hard to find and very expensive for me. If I had the ability to easily buy bras that fit I would probably have kept sizing up through my pregnancy. I do not care for nursing bras, personally, so I would say keep wearing what you're comfortable in until baby arrives. Good luck!

I think I had to size up 2 or 3 times during my pregnancy! In the end I got bored of it and just got one of those stretchy one size jobs!
I waited til about 6 weeks pp to get fitted for some good nursing bras as by then my supply had settled down and I was confident they'd be the right size!

Ouch! I'm 10w4d, and my bras have been cutting into me. I got re-measured, and I have gone from a 36C-D to a 38C-D. I need some new bras! I don't necessarily want to make the jump to maternity or nursing bras this early, as I figure my size will change a few more times between now and postpartum. If you outgrew your bras, did you just size up for a while, or jump to maternity/nursing bras?
