I'm not a fan of hospital food AT ALL. After that I had him out pretty frequently with no issues from the day after we got home. We went to the dr and for a blood draw at the lab and I ran into target at four days. We were walking in the park from four days on for jaundice. I say go ahead and try it! It's good that I didn't want to keep him at home for very long, because when he was 10 days old we had to evacuate to a friend's apartment because of Hurricane Sandy, and then to a hotel for a few nights, so he was out in public quite a bit! I took him to a baby shower at that point. It was durnig the frigid cold/flu season and we wanted him to have his shots first. I wore her the whole time. I don't remember how old DS#2 was, it was probably a little older because the flu season was so bad this year. We took her to church at 8 days old, and I took her to a Christmas market/festival and restaurant at 12 days old. I wore her around with no issues. They're portable at that age, so I lived it up while I could! Had her baby naming at 8 days pp with a big crowd of friends and family, and 10 days pp took a road trip to our family's lake house 4.5 hrs away! I think LO will do great!
