We took a 5 week class from about 31-36 weeks. I think anytime 3rd trimester is fine.

We did a 2 day childbirth class at 30 weeks. The hospital told us to complete all our classes by 32 weeks. I ended up in labor and delivery the day after our childbirth class with contractions! In the end, I ended up developing pre-eclampsia at 37-38 weeks, and was induced at 38 weeks. i'd take them earlier than later!

Two months before. I was the same was as you, I thought it would benefit M. But neither of us cared for the instructor and skipped a few classes. Way to get it done in one day! I vote 2 months before. At 1 month you will likely just want to rest on the weekends.

I took my class last week at 31 weeks. It's where it fit in our schedule, I was looking to schedule the class prior to 35 weeks. There were a couple of late June due dates and a couple of August due dates in our class, as well as a couple of July due dates!

Mine was <1 month prior to my EDD. It was my only choice due to a previous class cancellation but it worked out great, I felt like I got more out of it than if I had been further from the birth. If I were to do it again I'd schedule for ~1 month prior to EDD. I started reading the birth partner and a few other resources much earlier in my pregnancy too, so the class wasn't my first and only prep. I feel similar to you in that I think my husband got the most value out of the class, so the timing worked out for his sake too because it was less abstract and more, we are having a baby SOON and these are the things that will/might happen!

We just took ours yesterday, at 28w 6d. There were several ladies in the class who were also due in August, and only a couple due sooner. I thought I was ahead of the curve, but it seemed to be a similar timeframe for most of the class. That could be because the hospital wasn't offering a Saturday class in July. We found the class to be pretty helpful. I think there was more new information for my husband than for me, but it was good to get some hands-on practice with the techniques and hear how things are done at our hospital. We haven't done our tour yet though; that won't be for almost another month.

We are taking ours on June 6, and I'm due July 21. A one day class was our only option, since we needed it to be in English. I kinda feel like I'm being cheated a little bit, but oh well.

We took Bradley which is 3 months. The way the schedule worked I took it when I was not even 20 weeks! Very glad I took it early. Felt confident and prepared and the class helped me focus on nutrition throughout my pregnancy. It also taught me to take charge of my healthcare so I was much more empowered and engaged. To be honest, it tamed my stress too because I learned a lot... I knew very little going in! I took all my classes early- breastfeeding, caring for newborn, etc.

We did Hypnobirthing so it was a 3-hour class weekly for 5 or 6 weeks. I think we went from like 28-33 weeks? I honestly can't remember the actual dates! Somewhere around there, anyway.

I was supposed to take mine 3 weeks before my due date, and then I found out I was being induced 3 weeks early. So I called and they made an exception and squeezed me in the Thursday before my Sunday induction! It wasn't ideal but at least it was all fresh in my mind. And the instructor (and fellow classmates) was sensitive to the fact that I was in the red zone so she actually gave me a lot of attention and advice specific to induction.
Ideally I would have done a month out. I like for it to be fresh in my memory.

I did mine almost 3 months before my due date. I'm glad I did it earlier than later. Doing a day class a month before labor sounds not fun given everything you are trying to do to prepare for the baby. Plus I had issues with the health insurance company reimbursing me for the class and am happy I had enough time to get it squared away before the baby came. I found the most helpful parts were hospital specific information and policies.

So, husband and I are going to sign up for a one-day childbirth class recommended for my OB. I have done so much reading, I don't know if I will learn anything more, but I think it will be VERY helpful for my husband.

Anyway, the options are either 2 months prior to the due date or 1 month prior to the due date. When did you take your class? I am thinking maybe 1 month prior would be better because it would be fresh in our minds, but I have been kind of threatening preterm labor and I don't know if I will go to my due date!

Thanks all
