But, I was planning on getting the Mirena rather than do anything permanent. It seemed like a reasonable time period to account for life changes and decisions. He wasn't telling me I should get it done, mind you, merely trying to get me to think ahead. DH and I did talk about the possibility but his response to whether we would have three or not was usually, "I don't know. Let's just worry about these two for now."</p> <p>Well my postpartum doctors appointment is coming up and I've decided to go with the Mirena even though there's been some recent talk on the boards about them. I sent a text message to my sister last week about it, telling her that I was second geussing my choice in getting an IUD. She soothed me as I knew she would and I said yeah, at least it's easier than tying my tubes. Besides, I'm too young. Her response was, yeah, besides I might want another niece or nephew (she has no kids of her own by choice). </p> <p>Then talking to DH this weekend, it looks like we've decided to have a third in a few years unless circumstances make us unable to. Then we'll look at getting my tubes tied then. I could be anywhere from 25 to 27 after the next one is born. Honestly, this relieves me a little. A few more years to think it over, see if we really are done at two or if we want three (I kind of want three).</p> <p>When did you decide to have gour tubes tied? Was it after a certain number of children, a certain life event or goal, or what? And how old were you when you decided it was time? </p>
