Thanks for all the advice! I think we will try it this weekend and see how it goes. I dont want to wait too long and we have a good monitor so that will help. She takes most of her naps in her room so it isnt totally foreign.

At 3 weeks, when DH went back to work. I spent the first night of the transition in the nursery on the recliner, but I think that was more for my benefit than LO's. She's been happily sleeping in her crib ever since. If she wakes at night, I go to her and then go back to my bed.

the day my parents left (a month after RJ was born) we moved him into his crib in his room. That night he and I both slept so much better. I think it was his first 6 hour stretch!

I've heard that the earlier you transition, the better life is for everyone. We'll see what happens with our LO!

1st baby - 10 months!! He slept in the co-sleeper next to our bed or in bed with us. 2nd baby - 8 weeks. 3rd baby - 6 weeks and had already been doing all of her daytime sleep in her crib. Get yourself an audio/video monitor and put it on the lowest volume setting and get some good sleep!

LO went to her own room after 1 1/2 months... because she was getting too big for the bassinette already! I was very sad about it, but it actually turned out better for everyone. She slept better because she wasn't hearing hubby and I rolling around at night. And we slept better because we didn't hear her all night!

5 weeks, but in fairness, I slept in his room on a separate bed for almost 8 months. He'd usually join me sometime in the night.

The same as @chopsuey but we didn't co-sleep. I would just put her back to sleep in her crib and I would go back to my room.

LO went to her room at 2 weeks old. I moved back and forth between her room and ours and co-slept with her though.

Right now LO sleeps in a bassinette in our room. She is 3 months old and gets up once or twice at night to nurse. Sometimes we dont hear a peep other than that, but other nights we arre up one or two more times to soothe her back down.

I have read that 3-4 months is a good time to transition her into her room, but now i am not sure if we should do it now or wait until she is sleeping better.

So when did your LO move to their own room? What advice do you have for when and how to make it work?
