I was just thinking about this today. He's only 12 months, so it won't be for awhile... but he is SO attached to his bink. It's cute because he loves it so much, but it makes me nervous because I know it's going to be a battle in a year or two. He's ridiculously attached... that thing is like his best friend.

We didn't do it until a few months ago, and LO just turned 3. Since 2 he's only had it for naps and night. Honestly, his teeth are fine and I'm glad I waited until we could reason with him. We went cold turkey and it wasn't bad. I will caution, however, that sometimes we have the odd night waking now, which never used to happen.

We weaned cold turkey at 18 months. He was VERY attached. It went much better than I was expecting though!

My son only uses a pacifier when in his crib. He'll be two at the end of July, and at that point, I plan to take it away cold turkey. That's what I did with my daughter, and it went fine. No major meltdowns.

I did it at 15 months as it was messing with her teeth. Honestly It was one night of hell. We did cold turkey. Her sleep has never been the same... of course could have been the 18 month sleep regression but I feel like it threw her sleep of course majorly. I guess it's a lose lose situation :( good luck.

With both, around 6 months. They both never really took them well though. No ideas about weaning though.

following. I am beyond dreading this. haven't talked with the ped yet (she saw her with it at her 18month and didn't mention it) but I know it'll happen at some point. she is SO attached to them for sleeping :(

right around 21 months and it went well (shockingly) P was a paci addict and one day I couldn't find it soi just put him down without it and he really didn't even notice.... cried for a couple minutes and then was fine! he didn't even look it, I was shocked! he also has stuffed animals in his crib(scout) that he loves to play with and chew (we started putting them in the crib around the same time, we got rid of the paci)

Our pedi wants us to start weaning by 2 (which is rapidly approaching!) We were thinking about starting a month or two ago, but figured we should wait until all the plane travel was over, and then there was the crazy allergies and fevers and I just couldn't bear to take "sassy" away from my poor sick baby :(

We're traveling out of town this weekend, so I guess we'll start when we get back? I'm so nervous, we've never had to actively wean him from anything before! Any tips?
