He broke free out of the swaddles in the hospital. Hated to be confined. Wouldn't tolerate carriers, wraps, slings.. </p> <p>Now (at 4) he'll cozy up and watch a movie with me. He'll come over and try to get on my lap and then the second he is there he is pushing away as if I am holding him against his will. :silly:<br /> But I don't think it's all bad. He didn't need constant holding as a newborn (I would have lost my mind) and I can get a lot of things done while he plays or reads or watch tv on his own.</p> <p>ETA: we are going through the 18month sleep regression. So we are getting a nightly wakeup around 3am a few nights a week. That is the only time he is cuddly. He will curl up in my lap and lay against my chest for hours if I let him. He was walking independently right at 10 months so he just wanted to go and explore. He got more into cuddling once he was a toddler (maybe 18 months)? Both my babies have been cuddlers and the toddler still is. My older one liked to comfort nurse while being cuddled forever. Maybe because he's exclusively breastfeeding, he just wants to eat or kick away from me. With his three grandmothers he lays on them but never on me or his dad peacefully anymore.
