My son is 10 weeks and have the same problem. He needs to be burp before I can put him to sleep or he'll wake up. Poor guy, he doesn't sleep very long because of the gas. I hope this gets better.

At 7 months, we just try to keep them upright for 5 min after eating, but the burps come out on their own as they stand/sit.

We're at 6 months and still burping him. I'll see if him sitting up yields his own burps in the future. He's always been super gassy.

I still at least try to burp LO and he's almost 7 months. He had/has reflux so I'm still nervous about putting him down unless he burps. He usually does it right away on his own if he's going to though.

I literally never burped my daughter. She doesn't burp all that often on her own.

I still burp E and he's 4.5 months old. He's always been an extremely gassy baby and if I don't burp him the gas will wake him up.

During the day, I burp him.
During his night feeding, he doesn't get burped.
He is doing fine and has never woken up because of it. I do remember to feed him in an upright position though.
Also we use a slow flow nipple at night (we use a level 2 nipple for all other feedings during the day).
LO is 4+ months. He also chews his fists like crazy.

LO has always been tough to burp but now that he's chewing on his hands he swallows more air. During the day it's not as bad but for night wakings he's sleepier and harder to burp. No matter how hard I work different positions etc for a while he wakes within ten or fifteen minutes and cross- burps the instant I pick him up- and then takes ten minutes or so to resettle an go back down drowsy.

When did your baby get better at passing their own gas?
