DS is 10 months tomorrow and he will still occasionally scratch his face in his sleep if I don't keep his nails trimmed. It does happen few and far between now, but was a big problem when he was much younger. The onesies with the foldover cuffs worked great for us too!

3 months and still scratching. Do you have any of the onesies/gowns with the attached mitten cuffs? They were the on,y thing that keeps her from scratching. She wears them to bed because she tends to scratch at night. She can't rip them off like normal mittens!

Ditto to what @rattles: said. :)

Try different mittens... I think I ordered every kind of mitten out there and finally found a few that were useful.

her soothing techinque at almost 10 months is still to rub/strach at her hair and face, so you can always tell when I leave a sharp nail in the mornings :(

My LO has some gas issues, and when he gets gas pains, he will claw at his face. He left a real scratch that bled today! I don't even understand how he's doing it... I cut and file his nails daily now. I don't know what to do, he rips mittens and socks off of his hands. When do they outgrow this? I feel so bad!!
