@Mae: You might be surprised :). In maybe a month or so she'll may start consolidating naps (meaning they'll get longer). Once her naps are longer and more restorative she may be able to stretch out her wake times a little. We found that once D had better sleep during the day he could skip that last evening nap. Then voila, 2 naps.

@ShootingStar: 2-3-4 = 2 naps right? I think that is a pipe dream for us for a long time. Right now my LO can't get by with less than 4 and she's 5.5 mo! Right now her awake times are generally 1 hour after wakeup, 1.5 hrs after naps 1-3, and 45-60min after nap 4 before bed! She's ridic. :) If I could get 2 hour awake periods consistently I could move her to 3 naps and actually leave my house other than to go to target or the grocery store-- glorious! hah

ETA: My LO's need for sleep does not actually mean she comes by it easily of course! Right now she's requiring I hold her for all naps, the whole nap. Which means I spend an obscene amount of time sitting on my ass in the glider in our bedroom reading my kindle.

Happily? 6 ish months. Previous to that we were in a sleep regression so she would be awake but we would both be pissed about it. She definitely needed to be sleeping but wasnt.

D has about a 2 hr awake time and has since about 4 months. That said, she regularly stays up for 2+, 3, 4, or sometimes even 5 hrs in the afternoon because she is a terrible napper in the afternoon. I am looking forward to the development of a real afternoon nap and a shift to a predictable 2 or 3 nap schedule.

My LO is 5mo and still has a max awake time of 1.5 hours. A lot of times she only makes it an hour. I'm really looking forward to her regularly doing 2-2.5 hr stretches so that we can move down to 3 naps/day.

Just curious when your LO started stretching their awake time!
