My son was the same way. Now at 6 months, he's finally sleeping for about 45 minutes. It just took time.

You aren't doing anything wrong! My son only took 30 minute naps until about 6-7 months. They then lengthened to about 45 minutes. Eventually, he dropped the cat nap thing at around 9 months. Now his naps are anywhere from 1.5 to 2.5 hours. I think some babies just grow out that phase more slowly.

LO is 4 months old next week and he tends to only take 20-30 min naps, whether its in his crib, rock n play, etc. He wakes up crying but won't go back down.

Is this a common 4 month old occurence? My ped says it is but so many moms on this blog have their kids on what seems to be a great schedule with long naps by 4 months.

I can't help wonder if I'm doing something wrong. I try to put him down when I see sleepy cues, turn on white noise, etc. I can get him to fall asleep, but he always wakes up after a short time. His naps don't even get to the 45 min intruder, which I would welcome at this point.

Am i alone? (please tell me I'm not)
