She said sitting for long periods can push pressure on the cervix AND sitting upright for so long can cause blot clots because of the increased blood volume.<br /> So, we'd stop at a gas station (i'd pee of course!) and I'd walk around the car, clean the windows, stretch and breathe for about 5 mins and we'd get back in. I'm 31, almost 32 weeks and brought it up at my last appointment and my Dr said the same thing - I shouldn't travel more than an hour after 36 weeks. I brought it up to my boss at work and she was fine with that. Like @jessiejo17: it's just that once you get close to your due date you don't want to be too far away from your hospital. I don't think it's unreasonable for work to not expect you to travel in the last month of your pregnancy.
