@nugget16: it might not hurt to switch formulas as a test. My LO is nearly 3 months and spits up nonstop when I have eaten even just small amounts of dairy or soy. He only spits up normally if he is jostled around too much or laid flat immediately after nursing when my diet is clear.

By the time they were eating solids at 6 months. But also both were milk protein intolerant and once we solved that it all but stopped anyway.

Around 7 months when she started sitting more independently and her core started getting stronger. Also when she started eating thicker purees that seemed to stay down better.

@nugget16: it's hard for me to remember now but it felt like it was all the time. He was spitting up small amounts basically always - no matter if it was right after a feeding or not. FWIW I was dairy and soy free due to other GI issues he had and it never changed his spitting up. The GI doc we saw was unconcerned about the spit up because he was happy and growing well. I was concerned because it was sooooo annoying. A single outing meant washing everything because it was soaked with spit up.

@gilmoregirl: how many times a day would you say your LO spit up? Mine is at least 6-10 times after feeding--over a course of up to 1.5 hours after eating. So anywhere between 30 and 40 times a day

Saw GI Dr. today (per our pediatrician) and they
suggested Elecare, although I don't think she has any allergies. She never spits up at bedtime (sleeps from 7pm-7am) and she doesn't seem phased by it when she spits up during the day. Did anyone try this (or Neocate) and it actually help the spitting up? I just don't think it's worth trying. He did say I could try solids (and wait 40-60 minutes before giving bottle) and see if she spit up after those and if so he would do a barium study to see if it was an anatomical issue.
Would love to know if anyone has been down this road for their happy spitter and had anything good come from it?

@nugget16 my dd was a happy spotter until about 10 months. Nothing you can do about it but slap a Bib or multiple bibs a day in our case and do laundry! Just accept it and be glad it's not a real health problem and that they are not impacted. Hugs to you!

Being soaked by a mass amount of regurgitated breast milk was super not fun!

My lo is 5 no and has always been a happy spitter....when did you see it slow down/stop? Adding oatmeal to her bottle hasn't helped at all! On pepcid as a precautionary but she doesn't seem phased by it...but I'm at my wits ends! So hard to go/do anything because she spits up a lot, all day long. Please encourage this mama!!!
