They were also put away and only taken out during crafts time. Around 32 months I forgot to put them away one time and, after seeing she was fine with them, I left them in her art drawer for her to use freely. She pulls them out a lot to work on art projects and has not misused then yet. Since then, they've been using the scissors a lot more than in the past for various crafting projects.</p> <p>We used to supervise it closely, but now the kids use scissors on their own. Our youngest is three. We've gone over safety basics, and still give them verbal reminders to be careful. </p> <p>When did your kids start using scissors? </p>
