There was a two week period where she refused to eat anything other than cold, plain pasta. :/ eventually it got better, maybe around 2 years old? She's almost three now, and while she's still picky sometimes, she'll usually at least taste the food before rejecting it. During her peak picky times we let her eat a lot of fruit/veggie puree pouches. He was an awesome eater until around 18 months. And then suddenly he started rejecting all of the foods he used to love!! Stress city! We still offered veggies at every meal, even if he didn't touch it. Every few days, he would take a small bite and then spit it out if he didn't like it. But at least he tried it and he only tried it because we put it on his plate. I wish I could say it passed but unfortunately it did not. He used to eat anything, but eventually he dwindled down to exactly 5 foods (eggs, pasta, cheese, yogurt, ham) and it drove me BANANAS. For like 6 months. Slowly we started reintroducing foods but it drove me crazy whenever he rejected them. Now that he's older (over 3) he'll try new things and he does find that he likes certain things. But vegetables and fruits are a real struggle. He actually vomits when forced to put something he doesn't like in his mouth, so that is horrible. But our pediatrician says the same thing-- our job is to serve them a healthy variety of foods. It's their job to try it and eat it. We can't do anything other than serve it to them and give them the opportunity to try it. And it can take up to 20-30 times before they'll try it!</p> <p>He also mentioned that if a child adds ONE new vegetable to their repertoire each year, just imagine how many different kinds of veggies they'll be eating by high school! I had to start hiding foods and mixing them in real good at the that time. By 18 months, it got really apparent, but lucky for me, my 2nd DD (now 20 months) is not as picky was my 1st was. Was it short phase or is it still ongoing? What did you do...feed him the few foods he did like or just keep offering different kinds of food and let him eat as much/little as he wants to?
