Not yet at nearly 16 months!

He was 11 lbs when he was born, but is just over 19 lbs now. Numerous weight checks and obsessing over his eating was doing nothing to help the cause. He's a happy, healthy boy and meeting his milestones...that's all that matters to me!

Both of my LOs were 8lb 5oz at birth. LO1 was 16lb at 4 months so probably doubled around 5? LO2 is almost 6 months and I don't think she'll have doubled yet at her next appointment (she was under 14lb at her 4 month appointment).

@simplyfelicity: I'm not! I'm 5'7" and was 8.8 when I was born. For some reason I just make tiny babies. My son is still little at 5 months but our 3 year old is one of the tallest kids in her preschool class (but crazy skinny!).

Thank you everyone for your answers! It's true, every baby grows at their own rate and he is happy. Plus, he was enormous at birth.

@MamaCate: @chibee: @oliviaoblivia: @Truth Bombs: While I was in the pp wing on the hospital, my OB came by every morning and told me (each morning!) that I should "shoot" for a smaller baby next time  because I was in labor for so long and pushed for 3 hours. Like dead serious. My husband is 6'3 and all of the babies in my family and his are in the 8-10 range. My sister's daughter was 5 weeks early and still 5 lbs. Yeah, dr., I'll get right on that.

I just checked, J was a big baby (9 lb 5 oz) and just barely doubled at 6 mo (18 lbs 11.5 oz), but my doctor didn't mention it as a thing, he has always just noted how J's growing exactly on his curve (right around 75% weight and 65% for height)

Around 11 months. She was 8lb at birth. Don't sweat it...9lb is a big baby and she is settling into her petite self. That's what our doctor said and it has proven to be true. Our DD was also anemic and is no longer.

@simplyfelicity: I am glad your ped isn't worried but I understand your concern! I think with your DS being so big at birth and so active now that he is mobile, that probably explains it. To answe your question, I think both babies had doubled by 6-9 months, with LO1 not hitting it until closer to 9 and LO2 by 6 I think?

4 months (7lb 15ozs, then he was 16lbs at 4 months) - i think there's a big difference though, between doubling weight of a 6lb baby and a 9.5lb baby like yours! Jack wasn't 18lbs until he was around 8 months either! He's now 20 months and becoming more long and lean (like his father) so he's only 25lbs but 33.5 inches at his 18 month appt!

LO doubled by 4 months (born 6 lb 7 oz) but has slowed way down since then and wasn't even 17 lbs at her one year.

Question, are ya'll doing this by memory? Because I totally had to look it up on her online health record :silly: I can barely even remember her birthweight anymore!

@LuLu Mom: I love hearing about other small LOs. Some kids have to be little, right?! But it seems like every other baby I know is a huge chunk :)
