@BelugaBean: I think that I am in the same boat as you. DD, who is almost 20 months now, was an amazing napper (and she is still a great night-sleeper). Over the past month or so she seems to be dropping her nap (I only see this on the weekend, since she is at daycare the rest of the week). I asked yesterday at daycare about her napping, and they said that some days she naps well, others she fights it. The daycare provider said that she should be napping for another year or so, and that this "unwillingness" to nap might just be a phase. I really hope so...

charlie dropped it at 3.75 shortly after he started public school. but he still naps occasionally when he's really tired or if we've had a busy morning. one hour is all he needs though or it affects bedtime.

Kindergarten.

He's been in preschools where they're required to take afternoon naps. Even in Kindergarten, they started the year with it and then weaned them all off of it.

But, at home, he stopped afternoon napping around 3-4.

My LO dropped her morning nap when she was 10.5 months. I tried for a month or more to get her to take two naps a day but it just didn't happen. She was sleeping enough at night so even the doctor said she was just ready to move to one nap.

Now she's almost 20 months and her afternoon nap has been getting shorter and she's been more defiant about it. I'm worried she's trying to get ready to drop it. She sleeps about 12-13 hours at night currently and she's still asleep right now. I've known a couple of people whose kids dropped it right before two but more whose kids kept the nap for a long time. Obviously I have no idea if she's just having trouble teething or if she's actually starting to need less sleep during the day. What was your experience?
