He got forced into it at daycare at 12m, at home we did it more gradual. I think by 15m he had dropped one of the naps though. I would try to move nap to 11:30 and see how he does.

DS dropped the AM nap around 12 mos, mostly because he transitioned to the toddler room at Daycare and they do one nap a day. It took about a week to transition - he was cranky at first but it wasn't too terrible. He takes his nap around 11:30/noon so maybe push the PM nap earlier?

Right around 15 months. Maybe a bit earlier. It sounds like your LO is ready!

Try and move his nap earlier than his afternoon nap. T used to nap 10am-12pm and then 2pm-4pm. When he stopped wanting to nap at 10am, I kept him up till 12pm and that's about all he could do. He started napping 12pm-3pm and that being his only nap.

We started right around 16 months (3 weeks ago). Prior to the transition he was on a 3-3-4 schedule, so we started by pushing back the morning nap 15 minutes every 3-4 days until it was at a reasonable start time. If it was a short nap, then he either got an early bedtime or a short second catnap depending on mood and timing. We are now at a 12pm nap start time (he generally wakes up between 6-7, has been closer to the 7am side since the nap transition), he naps for about 1hr15mins, then bedtime is 6:45/7pm. If we can get his naps to lengthen out a little then I'll probably stick with the 12pm start time.

LO is 15 months old and his naps suck... they've been short for a long time now, he was taking 2 to 3 - 30 minute naps a day. Unless we're in the car and then he can sleep an hour+ in his seat.

These days, his AM nap is 10 mins. 10!! I don't know why I bother... but he wakes up around 7AM (sometimes earlier) and by 9:30, he's cranky and rubbing his eyes. So he is visibly tired but will only fall asleep for 10 mins (I watch the monitor) and then he wake up really mad and crying.

Should I just try and drop the AM nap and have him hold out until like 1PM for an afternoon?? Even though he seems tired by 9:30? That seems like such a long stretch. :bummed:

When and how did your LO drop their AM nap?
