My ped and dentist recommend two or when all their teeth are in. Considering she had all her teeth in by 22 months. Her pediatric dentist recommends kids start going at 2. Her next appoint is in November.</p> <p>My cousin in law gives even less sweets and candies than I do and her almost 3 year old has the start of a cavity. Definitely not unusual for me to see at least 3-4 kids under 3 a day! I see them in the hygienists operator just checking. It was just to let him get used to the office and to make sure there weren't any changes we needed to be making with his hygiene. The dentist scraped just a little tartar buildup off his lower teeth in the front, but it wasn't necessary. He was just behaving well so they like to see how far they can go when they're that young. We'll go every 6 months after. But he won't have his first cleaning until 3 unless he shows a need for it sooner. Right now we just go in and the dentist counts his teeth and does a quick check. </p>
