Their mom just shows them clips of favorite songs and fun scenes though. It started because they were planning a trip to Disney and she wanted them to have a better idea of the things they would see. He's watched Mader's tall tales and some Curious George movies before without a problem. For example Brother Bear 2 is on Netflix and I put it on since he loves this book based on the movie, but a little girl drowns within the first few minutes and he freaked out (understandably!). He was almost 3 at the time. We would change it to Olympics at commercials and he would start whining to change it back. I don't know if he "got" it or not, but he was definitely enjoying it. As she has gotten older (almost 4 now) she will sit and watch a whole Disney movie but usually that is a special treat and we tend to steer away from the Princesses but mainly because they aren't free on Netflix like the classic movies are.
