We use normal kids toothpaste with fluoride and LO doesn't spit yet (she's almost 2 1/2).

I was told by my dentist to teach him how to spit in order to switch to normal toothpaste. Once LO can spit on cue, then switch over. LO is 27 months (I think?, can't remember) and we're still using non fluoride toothpaste.

She's 2 and "spits" but usually after swallowing. Our dentist said because of the small amount to stick with fluoride toothpaste and she will get it sooner or later. And actually we stopped rinsing her mouth out because our dental hygienist sister in law said it's best to keep in the mouth.

He's two and he kind of does it when he feels like it. At the moment though, he really enjoys saying NO! when I ask him to rinse.

It was before 2. Maybe 20 months? It was shortly after we started teeth brushing.

My lo (27 months) still sucks all the toothpaste off and swallows it. Then she'll spit afterwards but that doesn't count! Still working on it

5 for DS and 3.5 for DD

DD will immediately suck off all the toothpaste though as soon as it hits her mouth so its pointless that she even knows how to spit! :bummed:

I have been wondering when/how to start this with DD (who is 2). So far we haven't been able to figure out how to teach her to spit! As a result, we are sticking to non-flouride toothpaste for a bit longer.

LO 1 just started and she is almost 3. I wiped her teeth down with a wet cloth before she started spitting.
