Hated purees, but loves finger foods (since 7 months) and now at 9 months, gobbles down small pieces of table food. Her teeth came in at 8 months. </p> <p>Finger foods she likes are avocado, hard-boiled egg yolk, bread, chicken, beef, pasta, meatballs, Mac n cheese, and rice. It's basically baby-led weaning because she does better self-feeding these things. It's super messy, but she just hated spoons in her mouth for a while... only getting used to them now! So far we've just tried cheerios, bread, and cooked carrots. The doctor made me feel a little better about it because if LO doesn't do well with it, I don't have to do it. But she said to at least try. I think she was about 7 months. It was puffs and Cheerios to start. Then I gave her real food once it seemed like she was doing fine. The closest thing are her Mum-mums. I thought about giving her pasta but kind of scared. She used to gag if her purees had little lumps in them, so I wouldn't give her anything lumpy. Today the doctor said to try finger foods again and if she gags just stop and go back to purees, but she didn't gag, yay! I'm pretty surprised because she only has two little teeth. </p> <p>When did your LO start finger foods, what did they eat, and how many teeth did they have? </p>
