Now at 26 months he generally doesn't like pb although he will eat it if I am. I remember him eating one right after he got his first haircut right after his birthday. But he had trouble gaining weight and was a picky eater so it was something recommended by his ped. My younger guy was probably stealing bites even earlier. I would give her an open-faced PB only sandwich cut into strips or little squares. She still doesn't really like jelly. She currently likes whole grain white or oatmeal bread (brown bread is apparently "dusty"), crusts removed, crunchy peanut butter. He's 20 months (today!) and I'd say his first PBJ sandwich was around 18 months. But he's had plenty of PB toast/sandwiches before that. I actually prefer for him to have just PB. The jelly (usually grape) is a treat!</p> <p>ETA: we just do soft wheat bread. Nothing fancy! He's fine with crusts for now :-) but at the zoo on Saturday they sold those uncrustables packaged things and not only did he love it, but it was so neat and convenient.
