His reflux was so terrible, and after weeks of using the rock n play and trying to wedge the bassinet mattress and it not working, we switched him to tummy. Back is best. Yes I know. Less chance of SIDS. Yes I know. But my kids slept better and longer on their sides from an early age. I even let my daughter tummy sleep a few times for nap at around 2 months (well before she was rolling). When they started rolling over, I let them. We transitioned her out of her swaddle sack and as soon as she figured out she could roll over to sleep she did. She didn't roll belly to back until month later, so there were a few nights there when we had to rescue her and flip onto her back.
