DS started rolling over from his back to his belly at 6 weeks and therefore started sleeping on his stomach. It made me SO nervous.

I still put him to sleep on his back but he would end up on his belly. The pedi had me roll him back for awhile, but after a few weeks, he wouldn't even go down to sleep unless he was on his belly and re-rolling him was pointless. Now he's 9.5 months and sleeps mostly on his back or side. Sleeping on his belly at such a young age was a direct result of uncontrolled reflux (pedi didn't believe me that he had it). Once the reflux really under control he started sleeping on his back/side more.

At around 4 months old when she started flipping over. For a while she preferred to sleep on her belly, but now she sleeps on belly and back equally.

Same here. As soon as he started rolling over at around 4 months we let him sleep on his belly. He's a big time belly sleeper, even now. Whenever I got in to check on him during naps, he's usually on his tummy. When he was an infant, tummy naps helped push out his gas, which was nice!

She started rolling over at about 4 months. We would hear her flip in the middle of the night and I'd flip her back over. Now at 6 months I've stopped flipping her.

My baby is a bit over 4 months now. He rolls back to front but can't get back and after 10 minutes of struggling on his belly he starts getting loud and cries. I wish he would sleep on his belly because we are constantly going in to flip him back and calm him down!

As soon as he rolled over. If I flipped him back, he would just go back to his belly and has always slept better that way.

As soon as he could roll over onto his belly and lift his head to turn from side to side, I let him sleep on his belly. It helped with everything-- especially gas! and poop. and nose boogers... we'd find them lying on the crib sheet. haha.

My LO started rolling from back to stomach (& stomach to back) at 3 1/2 months. He was a rolling machine that could not be stopped. The first night I would flip him back on his back in the crib, but he fought me each and every time. I decided that it would be a battle every night if I kept doing that and gave up the next day. He has been a stomach sleeper ever since.

Well, for the first time last night, LO rolled onto her belly in her crib! She's almost 6.5 months and has always slept on her back but when I went to her for her night feed, she was on her tummy! We'll see!

Did you let him or her start sleeping on their belly when they started rolling over? Is there an age range for that? Do you worry about them when they have rolled over onto their bellies on their own?
